2011

Label: Roadrunner 1686-177002
"TH1RT3EN" has several levels of meaning, which Dave Mustaine, who first picked up an axe at the age of 13, reveals, saying, "I was born on September 13th; this is my thirteenth record. It just seemed like it was the right thing to do to call it "TH1RT3EN". Mustaine is incredibly proud of the music put forth on the new recording, "This record is the culmination of my work over the 13 records I recorded. There are moments on "TH1RT3EN" that capture my every emotion, and other moments where I am releasing feelings I never knew existed! My proudest moments of my musical career are captured on "TH1RT3EN".

2009
"Endgame" is the 12th studio album from Dave Mustaine and Co. Recorded at the band's self-built brand new studio, Vic's Garage, located near San Diego, the 2009 release boasts the technicality, ferocity and snarl that's synonymous with Megadeth. "Endgame" finds Megadeth mastermind Dave Mustaine once again going back to his roots, and once again as a result, he has crafted a spectacular album that ranks among not only the best of Megadeth's catalog, but among the very best that modern metal music has to offer today.

2007
"United Abominations" is Megadeth's most musically pointed and lyrically poignant effort of the past decade. Bolstered by a band that holds its own against even the classic 'Deth daze, the band's Roadrunner Records debut is brimming with musical moments that scream vintage Megadeth, all bound together by a lyrical fusion of political rhetoric and Mustaine's wise-ass wit. The album debuted at #8 on U.S. Billboard charts, #5 in Canada and #23 in the U.K.

2005
"Greatest Hits: Back To The Start" is loaded with 17 CD selections, and also boasts a 9 track bonus DVD featuring the video for "Kill the King", as well as a seven-song live set recorded at the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver, CO on December 27, 1999. Classic Megadeth is well represented here - most notably with the stomping, bass-heavy "Peace Sells" and the mini-epic "Hangar 18". This collection is an ideal introduction to the potent speed metal of Megadeth.

2004
Megadeth's tenth studio album was critically hailed as a brilliant return to form which Revolver described in a four-star review as "Megadeth's most vengeful, poignant and musically complex offering since 1992's Countdown To Extinction". In creating this album Mustaine has taken all the greatest elements of successive Megadeth line ups, mixed them together and reinvigorated the sound with an injection of fresh Mustaine venom. The album debuted at #18 on U.S. Billboard charts.

2002
"Still Alive... And Well?" is a Megadeth compilation album released in 2002. The album's name is a quote from Dave Mustaine's answer to an interviewer's question: "What do you want written on your tombstone?". The first six tracks are live tracks, recorded at the Web Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. The following six tracks are studio-recorded, and can be found on "The World Needs A Hero". Tracks 1 & 2 are previously unreleased live.

2002
Tracks on the album are taken from two live concerts, performed two nights in a row in November of 2001. The first night was at the Rialto Theater in Tucson, Arizona, followed the next day at the Web Theater in Phoenix, Arizona. The album was going to be recorded live at a concert in Argentina, but due to the September 11, 2001 attacks, the band decided to record it live in the U.S. Megadeth's first live album is two solid hours of aggression, introspection, intelligence, and emotion.
2001
With a revamp in management, label and a couple of band members, Megadeth comes back in a furiously strong offering. This album debuted at #16 on U.S. Billboard charts, and was marked as a welcome return to Megadeth's more heavy metal roots. Mustaine's focused musical vision and pessimistic take on the world in 2001 is fiercer than ever. The razor-sharp guitar shredding, snarling vocals and spitting scepticism cut like an out-of-control laser on "The World Needs A Hero".

2000
2000's "Capitol Punishment: The Megadeth Years" is a killer collection of all the classic hits including two new songs, "Kill The King" & "Dread And The Fugitive Mind", and 12 others from the band's seven full-length Capitol Records albums. The album also boasts a hidden track "Capitol Punishment", a medley of the songs on the album. A notable aspect of "Capitol Punishment" is that the CD's sequence moves backwards from 1999's "Risk" back to 1986's "Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?".

1999
The title stems from Mustaine's decision to take a risk with the musical direction of this album. Megadeth expands its horizons and explores new avenues with the 1999 release of "Risk". With an artistic approach backed by a creative edge, Megadeth delivers a unique album that includes some of the best songs the band has produced. The album debuted at #16 on U.S. Billboard charts and was certified Gold in 1999.

1997
The album debuted at #10 on U.S. Billboard charts and was certified Platinum in 1998. The first 500,000 copies of "Cryptic Writings" in the U.S. were released with silver background album cover. Instrumentally, the band introduced a more melodic mix than the previous albums, chock-full of crunchy riffs, and speed-of-light guitar solos. The song "Trust" was nominated for a "Best Metal Performance" Grammy in 1997.

1995
"Hidden Treasures" is a collection of previously released non-album tracks, including soundtrack and compilation songs. The American version of the album is currently out of print, but the Japanese version is still available as of 2006. It was originally released in Europe as a special bonus CD for Youthanasia, before being released in Japan and the US as a separate EP later that year. A remastered version was released in Europe on April 30, 2007. The album debuted at #90 on U.S. Billboard charts,.

1994
"Youthanasia" marked the continuing evolution of Megadeth. Following in the footsteps of what the previous album, ("Countdown To Extinction") started, "Youthanasia" displays a tighter, more melodic sound than its preceding albums. The songs are all top-notch, the production is crisp, and the sound is crystal-clear. All in all this album is an integral part of the Megadeth catalogue. The album reached #4 on U.S. Billboard charts and was certified Platinum in 1995.

1992
Megadeth guns for arena thrash success and gets it on "Countdown To Extinction". Megadeth trades in its lengthy, progressive compositions for streamlined, tightly written and played songs more conducive to radio and MTV airplay. The album reached #2 on U.S. Billboard charts and was certified double Platinum in 1992. "Countdown To Extinction" was nominated for a "Best Metal Performance" Grammy in 1992.

1990
"Rust In Peace" is held in high regard in the metal community as one of the best thrash/speed metal albums of all time; debuting at #23 on the Billboard 200 in the U.S. and #8 in the U.K. The album showcased a much tighter sound, with Mustaine's writing style adopting a rhythmically complex progressive edge. The musicianship is tight, lyrics are personal, and the sense of amazement never ends. Quite possibly the best combination of intensity and technicality to be found. The album received Grammy nominations in 1990 and 1991 for "Best Metal
1988
On Megadeth's third LP the band continues to prove that in the right hands, sheer density and force of riffs can work as hooks unto themselves. With this album, Megadeth goes to another level and Dave Mustaine and his band prove once again why they are a force to be reckoned with in the world of metal. What you will hear is some of the most killer, heaviest, assaulting thrash metal ever unleashed. This album reached #28 on U.S. Billboard charts and was certified Platinum in 1998.

1986
A bona-fide thrash metal masterpiece, "Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?" combines a punkish political awareness with a dark, threatening, typically heavy metal worldview, and is one of the most powerful and contagious thrash records of the era. It catapulted Megadeth into the mainstream music scene and earned them worldwide attention of both critics and the heavy metal community. This album reached #76 on U.S. Billboard charts and was certified Platinum in 1992.

1985
Megadeth's debut was, undoubtedly, their rawest-sounding, most intense, fastest, angriest, and overall thrashiest album they've ever released. Killing Is My Business was originally released in 1985 on Combat Records. The deluxe edition, completely remixed and remastered and featuring a new cover and several bonus tracks, was released by Loud Records in 2002. From opening to closing, this is pure thrash/speed metal, at its best.
